Some assorted filming photos for the last DT special from the Sky News site: http://tv.sky.com/on-set-doctor-who-xmas -special-2009

Ash So bloody hell if I don't on a whim look up where I live on the Doctor Who Locations website and discover that the building I'm sat in right now is built on top of St Annes Hospital, and I can see another location from my window. I'm living on the ruins of Gallifrey/The Tardis and can see the edges of Outer Gallifrey/Planet of the Ogrons from my window... Always had a good feeling about living here....

Chuck Foster An article in the Western Mail on how shows such as Doctor Who and films like Harry Potter are attracting more tourists to Wales.

ITH the summer approaching, Welsh tourism operators will be crossing their fingers for a bumper year. It’s a vital sector in the Welsh economy, and one that we should all be getting behind.

I live in the States and visiting the DW sites was my main reason for visiting Wales, well Cardiff and the history too. I plan to come back and visit more of Wales

Fiona Worthington
hi im going to cardiff in august does anyone have a check list type thing of must see places?
thanks fiona xoxo

Linda at 6:02am June 22
I had a list when I went a few weeks ago. I got to most of the sites but the one that gave me the biggest thrill was standing on the spot where Jack said he was the Face of Bo. Then looking around and seeing bits of this episode was here and bits of another one. It was one of the best parts of my trip

JACK’S back! Stars John Barrowman and David Tennant seem to be fleeing Cardiff’s Tiger Tiger bar while filming Dr Who.

Chuck Foster There are plenty of places to see in Cardiff, and many of the notable "Whomarks" are in the Bay area (not to mention the Exhibition of course!), which can be completed in a day. Our very own Scott runs tours around the area too, so you might be able to arrange something with him (full of filming anecdotes too :) ).

Graham Wilson
G'day Everyone,
I will be traveling to England and Wales in July from the 3rd to the 9th. I wish I had more time but I have to get to Norway soon after. I will be in Cardiff on the 7th or 8th of July. I will be traveling with my Wife and three children. We are all keen to visit some Doctor Who/Torchwood locations. Can anyone suggest what would be the best and easiest to see in that small amount of time? I know it is early days as yet but It would be great if a visit coincided with some actual filming. Does any body keep tabs on where and when filming takes place? What do you think our chances would be like? We are also hoping to see the Doctor Who exhibition in Cardiff... is this worthwhile. My kids will be 11 going on 12 and two of them 10 years ( by the time we are there ). I am hoping they will enjoy it. We will aslo be staying near Brecon are there any locations near there?
Thanks Graham

Chuck Foster There are a lot clustered about central London, it depends on whether you want to see more new Who (not that much there) or the old ones (easy to fall over!). I can certainly rustle up a couple of my old tour routes for you, does also depend on how much time you want to spend on them (couple of hours, all day!!!)

Elizabeth I'm visiting London in a couple days, and I want to take a Doctor Who walking tour, self-guided or otherwise. I'm working on cobbling together my own thing from your (awesome!) site, but I'm low on planning time - do there exist any lists of the most notable sites that are in one general vicinity?

Chuck Foster Doesn't seem to have been anything public happening in the last week, and next week they're off to Dubai, so hopefully something will crop up after Valentines Day!

Sunday saw us brave the cold and have a wander south to the North Downs; today was to be a more intensive search for where The Deadly Assassin was filmed. Scott was keen to come along, too, so he caught a 4am coach from Cardiff to meet us (there's dedication for you!)...

Me and my brother had done the Betchworth stuff about two years ago, ended up with the same conclusions you did. We found we could get good views of the cliff face from the main road, but anything from the footpaths above was a no-no really. Still, "The Dolphin" pub in Betchworth was worth sinking a few pints of real ale in (we stayed in nearby ... Read MoreDorking). The Royal Botanical Gardens at Wisley is also near this location and well worth a visit, even though finding the bit used in "Spearhead from Space" is a bit tricky all these years later. I had no idea you could visit Gatton Park - it looked like a private school to us and we certainly did not want to be there during term times. So when is it possible to visit Gatton Park without being arrested for taking photos there? Surprised you didn't take in Kenley Aerodrome from "The Mind Robber", but guessed the snow hampered things for you!

Jonnie Hey everyone, I managed to catch SJA filming in Llandaff recently, which was brilliant :) am wondering if anyone knows about any other SJA filming due to take place? Also, Matt Smith starts filming in July or August doesn't he? Cheers, Jonnie. (Facebook - 76 TOTTERS LANE).
