Dogpatch Biofuels Great new video about SF Greasecycle, featuring the residential used cooking oil dropoff station at Dogpatch Biofuels!

Restaurants throw out a of used cooking oil everyday...grease. Would you believe there's a secondary use for all of that oil? There certainly is...biofuels. Adam found one organization that goes around to restaurants to pick up all that grease and turns it into B100 Biodiesel. ...

I found out about your organization through the above show. I think that this is a great idea and hope to see something like this in the DC area.

"There are few greater feelings than knowing your car exhaust is leaving a smaller carbon footprint and smells like french fries." Love it. Also, Friday night's The News Hour with Jim Lehrer had a report about making biodeisel from algae at a facility on an indian reserve (I want to say the Uru indians?). The cool part about the report, to me, ... See Morewas that the algae is encouraged to grow and produce lipids for biodeisel by living in the waste water and waste CO2 pumped from an oil field on the tribal land. They aren't netting a financial positive yet because they're still figuring out how to encourage algae growth at scale, but I still thought it was pretty cool. Recycled oil is better, but politically I think that oil companies seeing a profit interest in biodeisel is a very good thing.

Yes, but can you recycle biodiesel in a fryer? Kidding. Nice work. Looking forward to seeing the open store. Maybe in August....?
