I play on junk and recycled materials. I call it Junk Music and its pretty cool.
I started out as a percussionist and played in the Louisville Orchestra and Buffalo Philharmonic. After performing some works that involved found instruments, my interest grew and now that's all I do. I've got thousands of pieces of junk I use to create my music.
I've put out two studio albums, one of which was nominated for a Grammy and the other of which had tracks used in television commercials for ESPN and Electronic Arts. I wrote an opera for junk & spoken word, a concerto for junk & orchestra and have collaborated with dance companies, DJs, rappers, vocalists, and traditional musicians. I do solo concerts all around the country and in between teach students the basics of music and environmental citizenry.
