The same American outfit shows how the S. Hem anomaly WAS very high, but now
shows only a little more sea ice than the 30 year average, but STILL above
average

As far as global sea temps, if you go to
http://wattsupwiththat.com/ on aug 27, 2009
you wi...ll see how Roy Spencer -- the head of the USA satellite temp monitoring
outfit -- has struggled with the calculations lately of global sea temps, and
has concluded, in effect, that they are about average, tho July had a spike, but
that was against a recent very LOW point.
Now, to put this all together:
the recent solar minimum is an event that is going against the grain of about 75
years of a pretty active sun, sunspot/flare wise.
Both the LSU study and Tidwell are, in effect, throwing in the towel as far as
coastal restoration via Mississippi River sedimentation via outlets.Read More

Louisiana giving up prematurely on coastal restoration via sedimentation?
Tidwell's quote (Baton Rouge Advocate, about a week ago, article by Amy Wold) seems to reflect that of the LSU coastal study group, in effect,
pretty much throwing in the towel as far as coastal restoration in Louisiana.
Tidwell (in your article):
"I...n addition, unless action is taken to halt climate change and future sea level
rise, restoring the coast doesn't matter anyway."
Though the jury is "still out", I am confident (tho not convinced) that this is
premature.
The Japanese aerospace N. Hem sea ice monitoring outfit indicates a pretty
healthy recovery
http://www.ijis.iarc.uaf.edu/en/home/sea ice_extent.htm
The American N. Hem sea ice NOAA-related monitoring outfit shows similar
recovery (tho not yet out of the woods)

Number "-9999" represents that we couldn't conduct the observation during the period for the reason that the satellite went into constrained operation mode or stand-by mode to avoid harmful effects by meteor showers and solar flares.
