We moved to Maryland and since we haven't been able to attend a Conference but we miss our friends in Ladders, in special Dr. Buie. Our son is 16 now and their support and knownledge from the beginning made the difference, if we only had more physicians like them, what a difference.

Urghhh...how did this guy ever get into office in the first place...i am not only writing a letter, he's getting a personal visit from me! Wonder if he has any family members touched with autism or any form of Developmental Disabilities.....I'm with you guys on this.
He can't get away with destroying services for our most needed population of children and adults.

PS I had this man come up to me today at the CTIA conference and ask me what was going on. I told him that it was the annual Current Trends in Autism Conference and then he introduced himself as Bill Flutie, Doug's brother....He was just there finding a quiet place to work but I told him that you were here the day before Chirs....just thought it was kind of ironic and thought I would share....

Doug Flutie, Jr. Foundation for Autism
Our cause just entered in America's Giving Challenge, which gives us a chance to win $50,000!

Please donate today: https://www.causes.com/fb/donations/new?ts=1256059995&cause_id=101527

To win, between now and November 7th we have to get the most donations to our cause (every person can donate once per day and have it count as a unique donation). We can also win daily awards of $1,000 and $500 if we can get the most people to donate in any 24-hour period. The great thing about this Challenge is that it doesn't matter how much you give, but instead how much you do to encourage friends and family to get involved in our cause. We all need to come together and start promoting the cause if we want to win.... Read More

Each of us has tons of friends on Facebook who we can ask to donate to our cause. But let's think big too—can you put our cause in your email signature, can you throw a party and get people to donate through the cause when they enter, can you organize other people to go out and fundraise from all of their friends? As you reach out to your friends be sure to tell them why this cause matters to you. The possibilities are endless so let's talk about what we can do to win on the Wall of the cause or by replying to this bulletin.

I think we can do it! But it's going to take all of us. Check out the Giving Challenge ( www.causes.com ), then visit our cause to see how we're doing so far and get involved.

Donate right now by going to https://www.causes.com/fb/donations/new?ts=1256059995&cause_id=101527

Let's win $50,000 for our cause!

How you can help:

1. Attend the hearing on Wednesday, October 21, 2009 @ 10am. I cannot emphasize enough how critical is that the members of the Joint Financial Services Committee see that this issue matters to our community. Our attendance at this hearing will provide a long-lasting first impression. We must pack the room! Make sure to wear red so that our community is easily identified. Bring photographs of your loved one with autism.

2. Contact your legislator and ask them to support passage of H3809. Legislators need to hear directly from their constituents. Your story matters to them. Tell them that you need and expect their support.

You can e-mail them and personalize your story from this link http://www.autismvotes.org/c.frKNI3PCImE/b.4918301/k.CFC3/Take_Action_in_Massachusetts/siteapps/advocacy/ActionItem.aspx?tr=y&auid=5446645

Mike, you would also benefit your son (and maybe you as well) by limiting his exposure to flourescent lights. They buzz. it's not a buzz that is obvious to all but it is a trigger to migraines for me and my nephew (who has autism) doesnt do well with them. I teach preK and I KNOW the buzzing effects the entire classes behaviour.
