Warther Museum

I grew up there in Dover, but moved to Texas. Took my husband to visit the museum and he was totally blown away. He bought some plyers and other stuff, and passed some of the plyers out to his friends. He is now a fan and finds the trains awesome

Been going there since I was 16 over 45 years now and always see something new like the new shop also

I remember touring the museum as a youngster a million years ago and meeting Mooney. He gave me one of his hand-carved pliers, which I probably broke before bedtime. I treasure my two sets of Warther knives (my parents' set, and a small 3-knife set my grandmother, Gladys Greenlee, gave me when I graduated from college.

I still miss the swing!!! :o(

Mooney used to grab my white hair and tell me that if he was an Indian, mine would be a prize scalp. He scared me to death. Then he would ride his bike and stop to visit with my parents on the porch and I was sure he was coming for my hair!!!! I wish I had ALL the pliers he carved for me!!! I like the cave to swing from!!

After Corky, the museum went through a spell where there were no museum dogs. Later,l Dave Warther bought Penny and she became the new museum dog. Penny would actually go with Dave when cutting pliers for groups and sit in front of a lady, whomever Penny sat in front of, got the pliers!

I remember my 8th grade trip to the museum in the early 60s. It was wonderful to see the big swing that my dad pushed my mom on. My dad, Tony Nigro, collected arrowheads and gave them to the Warthers for the arrowhead collection. After hearing about the pliers that Mooney made and then seeing him carve my very own was memorable. What very fond memories.

Wouldn't miss it... what a great event with wonderful food.
