I was walking and filming areas immediately adjacent to the Record St homeless complex. With all the new development in the Freighthouse District, and the area being planned for high end clubs, etc., are they going to abandon the homeless center and establish elsewhere, you think?

Downtown Makeover To those asking, I knew about Siena's Notice of Default, but decided to wait and ask for an official statement from them before publishing to avoid damaging their holiday bookings, unlike certain other media outlets. The Siena is NOT closing its doors. Here is their official statement:

Actually I didnt know the default date was over a year ago! Not sure what that means though...what does that mean? Also, the family dynasty thing is just a rumor/theory...for all we know the Siena could be in actual serious trouble so I didn't want to jump to any conclusions.

Downtown Makeover Heard through the grapevine RFPs for the Virginia Street Bridge replacement are due to the city by Monday at 4, and there are several firms submitting proposals. I am hearing everything from a drawbridge concept to cable stay designs. Can't wait to find out which firm is chosen!

The City Council decided to use $522,500 leftover from federal grant for new signs to create a pedestrian route between Virginia Street, the new RTC Fourth Street bus station, the Reno Aces Ballpark and the Amtrak railroad station.
