ESPN announced Sunday morning that its widely popular show “College GameDay” will be in State College, Pa., on Sept. 26 for the Hawkeyes’ game against No. 5 Penn State.

The first of nine Iowa City houses damaged by the floods of 2008 was torn down by workers early Tuesday morning, a year and three months after the flooding swamped roughly 265 homes in Iowa City.

AMES - After a shaky first half, the Iowa Hawkeyes came out of the Jack Trice locker rooms and dominated the second half from start to finish, as the Hawkeyes defeated Iowa State, 35-3, and as a result, maintained possession of the Cy-Hawk Trophy.

Dr. Daily “When the Hawks win, Mayor Campbell has to wear a Hawkeye T-shirt to the next Ames council meeting,” Iowa City Mayor Reginia Bailey said and chuckled. “In the unlikely case that Iowa loses, I of course will have to wear a Cyclone T-shirt to our next council meeting.”
