Thanks folks! This was one of those paintings that got scraped off several times before it finally came together for me (just as I was
about to fling it into the trash like a frisbee.)

As for where I got the persimmon, I will never tell. And neither will my big-mouth sister..lol.

Also, I am back to making giclee prints of my work and I made one of the persimmon painting:

Thanks everyone.

Christie- that little oval was half the reason I painted this leaf.

Michele and Eric-- I almost didn't include the tape. It changes the feeling of the painting though I'm not sure how-- perhaps it emphasizes the fact that the leaf is in a studio being intensely observed-- it kind of turns it into a specimen.... Read More

Aao- good luck with your project!

Dan-- of course! Let me know if you need a decent image of it.

My 8 year old and I loved the ice cream, very fun video! That's neat to watch your technique; I am a painter but use acrylic in a totally different way. After being raised watching my mother draw and paint I enjoy seeing how each artist accomplishes a piece. Thanks for sharing!

thanks folks, glad you enjoy them.

Virginia-- strangely, I think the same thing, as though I was watching someone else doing the painting.

Jen-- kids really seem to love these little videos. I show them to classes sometimes and have a little contest where they try to be the first one to guess what the painting will be.

wow Duane that's actually pretty cool.

I was a bit unsure how to frame the first painting I got and eventually my husband took a frame I already had that looked good on the picture and he cut it down to fit.

This is so lovely. Brings back great memories of childhood and playing under the magnolia tree in my front yard in Va. No magnolias in Wyoming, I'm sad to say!
