City of Dunedin Choir Rehearsals for MESSIAH are going really well. Some choruses we'll be singing from memory - quite a hard task for new choir members, but for those who've sung this work several times in the past it's not so much of a mission. City of Dunedin Choir We had the first rehearsal with conductor Simon Over this morning, for the "Glory of Haydn" concert. We loved his conducting and he loved our singing! We have another week before the concert to polish a few gnarly phrases, but on the whole it is going really well. We are looking forward to a good performance!

The City of Dunedin Choir joins the Southern Sinfonia to perform Haydn's Missa in Angustiis, also called the Lord Nelson Mass, in a concert presented by the Southern Sinfonia.
The soloists are soprano Rebecca Ryan, alto Claire Barton, tenor James Rodgers and baritone Jared Holt, and the conductor is Simon Over.
