Durham County Department of Social Services The Low Income Energy Assistance Program (LIEAP) is accepting applications at 300 N. Duke Street from November 2-13, 2009. Telephone applications will be taken for disabled clients. The LIEAP contact number is 560-8356. LIEAP is a federally funded program that provides for a one-time cash payment to help eligible families pay their heating bills. For more information, call 560-8600.

Durham County Department of Social Services In Durham County, there are 228 children in foster care: 98 males, 130 females, 26 Caucasian, 196 African American and 6 children of other races. Of the 228 children, 49 of these children are free to be adopted: 39 are African American, 5 are Caucasian and 5 are of Hispanic descent. Join us September 12 at the Walmart in Morrisville to learn more at the Light 103.9's Unity in the Community event!
