• Durham County Health Department has received a shipment of the H1N1 vaccine. While supplies last the vaccines will be offered to high-risk persons that are a part of the H1N1 vaccine priority group.
• High-risk persons eligible to receive a vaccination include pregnant women, caregiver and household contacts of infan...ts younger than six months old, persons six months to 24 years old, persons 25 years to 64 years old with medical conditions and healthcare and emergency medical services personnel.
• Persons under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent of legal guardian.
• Visitors of the H1N1 Vaccination Clinic can either park on site or ride a free bus shuttle running from the Health Department, located at 414 East Main Street, to the Durham National Guard Armory during clinic hours. Buses will return patients to the Health Department.
• The Health Department plans to begin holding regularly scheduled clinics on Wednesdays based upon vaccine availability.

Schelp will describe how the Erwin Cotton Mills, from their construction in the 1890s to their closure in the 1980s, were the driving force that made Old West Durham what it is today.

• Durham County Health Department has received a shipment of the Thimerosal free H1N1 injectable vaccine. Tomorrow, the vaccine will be available to children ages six months old to 35 months old while supplies last.
• More H1N1 vaccines are expected to arrive this week.
• All children that receive the vaccine must be... accompanied by a parent of legal guardian.
• The H1N1 vaccine, considered the best protection from H1N1 flu, is free of charge.

• Durham County Health Department has received a small shipment of the injection form of the H1N1 vaccine.
• 200 injectable vaccines are available to distribute to people at high-risk for flu complications while supplies last.
• The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that the injection form of the H...1N1 vaccine be administered to persons who are at higher risk for complications from the flu, or those who are in contact with high risk persons.
• The Walk-in H1N1 Vaccination Clinic will be for high-risk citizens including pregnant women, caregivers or anyone in a household with infants less than six months old, and children six months old and up until their fourth birthday.
• For more information about Friday’s Walk-in H1N1 Vaccination Clinic, call the H1N1 Vaccine Information Line at 919-560-7882. For additional information about the H1N1 vaccine, citizens are advised to visit the Durham County Health Department website.
