Wanna save a life? Every 2 seconds someone in the United States needs blood. Gamma Beta Phi is teaming up with American Red Cross to give life... and we need your help! The process is very simple and convenient as it is just a click away. Here's what you do: visit www.membersforlife.org/cbsr/schedule click on "search b...y sponsor code" and then enter 14540.
The blood mobile will be outside of the Collins building on Tuesday, October 27th from 9:30 am- 2:00 pm and the whole process will only take you about an hour! There are plenty of appointment times to choose from, so pick what works best for you :) Here are the top 10 reasons to give blood:
10. You will get free juice and cookies.
9. You will weigh less — one pint less when you leave than when you came in.
8.It's easy and convenient — it only takes about an hour and you can make the donation at a donor center, or at one of the many Red Cross mobile blood drives.
7. It's something you can spare — most people have blood to spare... yet, there is still not enough to go around.
6. Nobody can ask you to do any heavy lifting as long as you have the bandage on. You can wear it for as long as you like. It's your badge of honor.
5. You will walk a little taller afterwards — you will feel good about yourself.
4. You will be helping to ensure that blood is there when you or someone close to you may need it. Most people don't think they'll ever need blood, but many do.
3. It's something you can do on equal footing with the rich and famous — blood is something money can't buy. Only something one person can give to another.
2. You will be someone's hero — you may give a newborn, a child, a mother or a father, a brother, or a sister another chance at life. In fact, you may help save up to three lives with just one donation.
1. It's the right thing to do.

Gamma Beta Phi will be marching for babies on October 24, 2009! Will you help us save millions of babies? Upon returning from Fall Break on Monday, October 19th from 9:00 am- 1:00 pm (In front of Cafeteria) and Tuesday, October 20th from 4:00 pm- 8:00 pm (outside of the library) Gamma Beta Phi will have tables set up o...n campus to give individuals an opportunity to sponsor our team- DT Gamma Beta Phi! We will have free treats to give out for your generous donations and we will also have March of Dimes bracelets for sale.
Every year 13 million babies worldwide are born too early. One million of those babies won’t make it. The babies that do survive are likely to be faced with lifelong health problems, including cerebral palsy, mental retardation, chronic lung disease, blindness, and hearing loss. March of Dimes funds research to find answers to the serious problems that threaten our babies, supports programs that help moms have full-term pregnancies, and raises awareness of preterm birth.
If you are unable to attend the Gamma Beta Phi Walk 4 Babies Sponsor Days, don’t worry your donation is simply a click away! Go to marchforbabies.org/heidineill then click on DT Gamma Beta Phi (directly under Heidi’s name). Enter the amount you wish to donate and you have now helped save a baby! Thank you so much for supporting Gamma Beta Phi in the walk for such an important cause!
