Catherine Bythewood Since 1983, I have been driving an hour each way between Durham & home each Christmas just to shop at Morgan's for Christmas ornaments. I knew I'd always find something unique AND beautiful! Bought the glass icicles until there was just no more room on my tree. ;-) Now I meet two dear friends & we come to the Open Ho...use each year to kick off our holiday (see Melody's post below). I have many beautiful garden items form Morgan's too. Thanks for being a reliable source for beauty, distinctiveness, and fun!

My best friends Spring, Catherine and I have a tradition for your Open House, which is the happy beginning of the Christmas-Solstice season for us. Since Catherine lives an hour's drive away, we gather for dinner and a slumber party in Chapel Hill on the Saturday night before, and then head for Morgan Imports after brunch on Sunday. We love the trees, the carols, the lights, the champagne, the doughnuts, the merriment, and your wonderful staff! And we love having a great excuse to get together and let our grown-up concerns take some time off.

We three have celebrated thus for five years, and Spring and I were Open House regulars for at least ten years before that. Many of my favorite ornaments have come from your shop over the years. They are now a great part of the fun and joy of my holidays. Now I buy ornaments as gifts for those not fortunate enough to attend the Open House, and just one or two for myself. Or three.
