Two exciting things of note for this weekend:
Cassoulet is back! A cold weather favorite around here, cassoulet is a leg of duck confit, a link of garlic sausage & a cube of braised pork belly all over white beans and topped with bread crumbs. If this doesn't help put a layer of insulation for winter I'm not sure what... will.
But of course if you want to burn off all of those calories this weekend we are hosting a dance party here on Saturday night, December 12 starting at 10:00PM. Jeff & King are promoting it and there is a members only theme. That means that if you wear a Members Only jacket you get in free. Otherwise it is open to all for a fee of $5.

We will be collaborating with Bruno Arricastres of Wine Without Borders & Drew Lazarus & Thomas Thorne of the Hope Valley Bottle Shop. Piedmont Come in tonight for a Zombie! The annual Durham Zombie lurch begins right outside our front door at 6:30 tonight, and to honor the occasion of the walking dead we will be mixing a big bowl of Zombie punch tonight. If you aren't familiar that's a potent rum drink make famous by Don the Beachcomber way back in 1934. W...e'll be following his original recipe to the drop and it promises to be tasty. $5 for a glass.

Piedmont will be hosting a beer dinner featuring beers from Highland Brewing Company on Wednesday, October 28th. Representatives from the brewery will be down from Asheville for the event. We will be matching 6 different highland beers with a six course menu. The price will be $65 and that includes tax & gratuity. ...We still have some space so call soon for reservations.

Piedmont Sausagefest 2009 is officially underway! All month long we will be celebrating the change of the season, beer & meat in tube form! Tonight we are kicking it off with a dance party starting at 10:30. Tomorrow we'll be at the farmer's market here in Durham handing out samples of our delicious housemade sausages.
