EPO Major stroller maker Maclaren expects to recall 1 million umbrella strollers on Tuesday, due to a potential finger hazard for children. A side hinge mechanism poses a hazard to children's fingers when the umbrella stroller is being opened or closed, the company says. Maclaren, one of the leading stroller makers, is mak...ing the voluntary recall after reports of 12 injuries, according to a report in the New York Daily News. All Maclaren strollers sold since 1999 are included in the recall, the newspaper reported.

The Ingham County Health Department has received an initial, limited supply of H1N1 vaccine. They have identified the following groups, per CDC recommendations, to receive this initial vaccine:
- pregnant women
- household members who live with infants 6 months and younger
- children aged 6 months to 4 years
- children and... adolescents aged 5-18 years old who have medical conditions that put them at higher risk for influenza-related complications.
The Ingham County Health Department is holding a H1N1 mass vaccination clinic for these groups on Saturday, Oct. 24, 2009 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Ingham County Human Services Building, 5303 South Cedar Street, Lansing.

Regional Neo-natal Intensive Care Unit (RNICU) visitation will be limited to well parents and grandparents of the newborn. Pediatrics and Pediatrics Intensive Care Unit visitation will be limited to well parents and well grandparents only. No children will be allowed on any of the above units.
