Luckily with sites like East Coast Connected and the ability to create specialized social media networks on sites like ning.com the government does not have to help support ex-patriot sites or contact points. If there is a need and desire, these hubs will evolve organically (after all they are free). Also, cites such as careerbeacon.com provide job info and facebook allows me to link with my fellow East Coasters from around the world should we want to meet for a beer. Alternatively, LinkedIn allows me to meet for business and seek business opportunities and jobs.

Also I have issues about incenting people to return home,... the fall of oil prices has brought many an Atlantic Canadian back as the rise took them away. It is the economy and the depth of opportunities that drive the move not an advertising campaign.... Read More

Well that is my view anyways.

Don't want to be a pedant but it's "expatriate". An ex-patriot would be someone who no longer loves their country. Most governments would probably not want to support networks of ex-patriots.

As a resident of New Brunswick and working on economic development, I would like to personally thank the voters of Nova Scotia for making my job easier. I am also happy that you have a majority government which thus provides us with a four year cushion.
