(From Elizabeth) For some reason I am one of the last of our staff to read THE HELP by Kathyrn Stockett. I grew up in the South and therefore a number of people were eager to hear what I thought about the book. Why did I wait so long? I have no idea because I loved every word of this book!

Titcomb's Bookshop Didn't get enough of Legos last weekend? This weekend is the Lego Museum! Drop off a Lego creation on Saturday 10/17 from 10am-1pm (must be 12inches or less). Come to the grand opening of the Lego Museum on Sunday 10/18 from 1pm-3pm. (Don't worry..it's a 1 day museum and your creation can come right home after!) Come see the cool things everyone has made.

Titcomb's Bookshop Did you read "The Hakawati" with our Book Club? Well author Rabih Alameddine will be speaking at the Harvard Book Store this Wednesday (Oct. 7th) at 7pm. Elizabeth Strout ("Olive Kitteridge") will talk at the Fine Arts Center in Provincetown this Friday (Oct. 9th) at 8:00pm. Just thought you'd want to know!

Titcomb's Bookshop Pulitzer prize winning poet Mary Oliver will read and discuss her poetry at the Tilden Arts Center at Cape Cod Community College on Wednesday October 14th at 7:00pm. This event (part of Titcomb's Bookshop's 40th Anniversary celebration) is free and open to the public.

Come listen to Prof. John Kricher discuss "The Balance of Nature: Ecology's Enduring Myth" at Green Briar Nature Center at 7:00pm. The book discusses why the balance of nature is a myth and how breaking free of that myth will help us preserve the natural environment.

Titcomb's Bookshop Apple Cake! We served apple cake at our author event on Saturday and I can't remember ever getting such an enthusiastic reaction to anything we have served! In response to many requests, the recipe is now on our blog. The best part is that you don't even have to peel the apples! Try it.
