If you did, you might have seen our mom, Nancy Titcomb, painting the statue of the colonial man in front of the shop a few weeks ago. It’s painstaking work – but it’s a labor of love!

Titcomb's Bookshop Elizabeth has read The Help by Kathryn Stockett....and LOVED it! Here is her review.

Source: titcombsbookshop.wordpress.com
(From Elizabeth) For some reason I am one of the last of our staff to read THE HELP by Kathyrn Stockett. I grew up in the South and therefore a number of people were eager to hear what I thought about the book. Why did I wait so long? I have no idea because I loved every word of this book!

Great book! I thoroughly enjoyed every page of it. I don't think the cover helps "sell" the book and story. That may be one of the reasons readers are missing this book. I've recommended it to quite a few people and every person who has gone on to read it has raved about it.

Come to the grand opening of the Lego Museum on Sunday 10/18 from 1pm-3pm. (Don't worry..it's a 1 day museum and your creation can come right home after!) Come see the cool things everyone has made.

I have been meaning to read Hakawati. Is it like Cutting for Stone? I heard if you liked Cutting for Stone then you would like Hakawati because of the storytelling.

Well..I can't answer that! Elizabeth (who read Hakawati) hasn't read Cutting For Stone and Vicky who loved Cutting for Stone hasn't read Hakawati! We can say that we liked both books but can't really compare them.

Titcomb's Bookshop Apple Cake! We served apple cake at our author event on Saturday and I can't remember ever getting such an enthusiastic reaction to anything we have served! In response to many requests, the recipe is now on our blog. The best part is that you don't even have to peel the apples! Try it.
