Green Dharma ~"Ultimately, the decision to save the environment must come from the human heart. The key point is a call for a genuine sense of universal responsibility that is based on love, compassion and clear awareness."~H.H. the Dalai Lama~

Green Dharma ~"It is not difficult to forgive destruction in the past which resulted from ignorance. Today, however, we have access to more information; it is essential that we re-examine ethically what we have inherited, what we are responsible for, and what we will pass on to coming generations."~H.H. the Dalai Lama~

This is a verse from my poem "Modern Forgiveness" from the collection "A Quiver of Flowers":
Yet the divine forgive these trespasses
With the faith that the children will inherit
Fresh air, loving hearts, clean minds and green environments,
And with the hope that the doves of peace... See More
Do not drop dead due to global warming or die by crashing into
Deceptive glass scaffolding of glittering skyscrapers.

Green Dharma ~"As people alive today, we must consider future generations: a clean environment is a human right like any other. It is therefore part of our responsibility towards others to ensure that the world we pass on is as healthy, if not healthier, than we found it."~ H.H. the Dalai Lama

oh my, Thanks for that! I agree completely! I think we ignore the other species as a species, to our peril... and to a tragic dishonor of our species... We are better than that, and our finest instincts are to love the other beings - an instinct that current media programming seems to be trying to train out of us with fear shows. Let's hope and work to save enough of that web that the whole system doesn't colapse.

www.shabkar.org
Shabkar.org is a non-sectarian website dedicated to vegetarianism as a way of life for Buddhists of all schools. The site takes its name from Shabkar Tsodruk Rangdrol (1781-1851), the great Tibetan yogi who espoused the ideals of vegetarianism.

Excellent paper! I believe that spiritualism evolves from highly developed intellect - superego over ego over id - paramatma over atma over prana. Lower intelligence leads to confusion in understanding what is good for oneself and the general good.
