Melody Molly, did I see a recipe recently on how to make cheese at home? I think the title had something to do with using muslin. If so, I'd like to have it again, because I seem to have lost it.

Kayla Leggett Herrera

Kayla Leggett Herrera Just thought I'd share this. The Dollar Tree has some really cute pre-k - 1st grade workbooks (50+pages in some of them) for only a dollar :0. They have numbers, shapes, addition, phonics, etc. I bought some yesterday for future use with the Letter of the Week toddler curriculum, but they would be great (and cheap!)... for little ones that want to "do school" with older brothers and sisters.

Savvyshopperdeals.com has a Shopping Wizard and is similar to The Grocery Game, but free. You can choose the store you want and the percentage of savings (I usually put 40%), then it’ll show you all the sales by category, and if there are any coupons available for those items. It’s a real time saver.

Econobusters What are some ways that you cut costs during the summer months at home? Less meaty meals and more salads? Turning up the A/C to a more higher temperature? Share with us what you do.

We rely on our garden to cut food costs, both with fresh eating and canning/freezing. We also have heavy shades on the west side of the house, which we close about noon when the sun starts hitting them. This really helps keep the house cooler. If its really hot in the afternoon we hide out in our basement for a couple of hours.

We grow most of our herbs fresh, and have pots with tomatoes and sweet peas. We hav eno A/C jsut open the windows at night at close them as soon as it is warmer outside than in (we live on the CA coast). We use the crockpot almsot daily and go to free places like parks and beaches for entertainment.

We all know that coupons can save us big money at the grocery store. But they don’t do any good if they’re sitting in a pile on the counter waiting to be filed. I’ve struggled with coupon organization for a while . ...

Interesting. The only thing is--I'm not sure where I really have the wall room for something this big, unless I use the main hallway or the stairway. Our walls are decorated in bookcases--seriously!
