Florida Sight Fishing Much better day today with repeat clients from FL (despite my camera losing the pics). Still cold water and fish hiding, but we used live finger mullet for the whole day and caught 6 redfish and some trout. One redfish was 15lbs and we broke off another that was 20+lb after 5min. Hopefully my clients have some pics.
Florida Sight Fishing A frigid Tuesday with new clients from PA. Overnight lows near freezing dropped water temps into the 40's and pushed the fish deep and hard to find. We only managed a couple 6-7lb reds to the boat. To make matters worse, I broke off a world-class speckled trout (est. 11-12lb/32-34" long) when she snagged a a trim ta...b while I was trying to land her. I cried.
Florida Sight Fishing Fly fishing today with a new client from California. We got into a couple areas with scattered redfish tailing in groups of 5-20 fish. He had 5-6 eats on a small minnow pattern, but only managed one short redfish back to the boat. Despite the misses, good sight fishing when the sun was out.

Florida Sight Fishing New clients today on a two boat charter with my friend Capt. Joe Roberts. It was a live bait catching bonanza in Mosquito Lagoon as each boat caught over 15 redfish and 5-10 trout. Best bait was a live finger mullet, it was outcatching live shrimp 3:1. Water still cold 54-56 degrees the water clarity is crystal clear.
Florida Sight Fishing Back out fly fishing today, again with my client from the UK. The water is cold and crystal clear. We got into a couple decent schools of redfish (25-75 fish) working the sand. He hooked 7 reds on fly, landed 6 of them. Shrimp and crab flies.
Florida Sight Fishing Temps in the 40's, wind howling out of the north at 15-20mph...perfect conditions for my repeat client from London to do some flyfishing in Mosquito Lagoon. We saw fair numbers of redfish and trout, but itough to get any casts to them. Despite the conditions, he stuck and landed this 6lb redfish on a shrimp fly.

Florida Sight Fishing New clients on a two boat charter today with me and my friend Capt. Bill Rotne. We fished all day in pea soup fog, couldn't see more than a few yards at any time, and the fog never lifted. Miserable sightfishing conditions and the goal was redfish. My guys put two overslot fish in the boat which is better than nothing. The fog is still out there...
Florida Sight Fishing Repeat clients today from TN. Glass calm conditions revealed hundreds of redfish tailing in big balls of 60+ fish. Felt like a summer day with high's in the 80's and sweating with no wind. They put 2 reds in the boat and missed half a dozen other bites. Gulp shrimp today's lure of choice.
Florida Sight Fishing Repeat clients again today. Weather started OK, but went downhill fast. We got 3hrs in before being rained out. We took a break for 2 hrs, then the weather broke and we went back to finish. LOL...It poured for an hour on us when we started fishing again and was now cold and windy. We still managed 3 redfish and 8 t...rout (2 over 4lbs) in the boat fishing the frontal line.

Florida Sight Fishing Out today with the same clients from yesterday. Again managed a decent number of hooked up fish, despite not seeing great numbers. High water levels have me busting my rump all day to find em. Ended up with about 5 reds and a 8-10 trout. So over this high water levels...
