Halloween festivities await ye!!
We kick off at 7.30pm at Whiski Bar (Clever Dicks)- 119 High Street,
Edinburgh, EH1 1SG. http://www.whiskibar.co.uk/
Once warmed with brew we head up to the Castle for the Samhuinn Festival;
"The Samhuinn Festival, possibly the biggest Halloween event in the
country, wi...ll be lighting up Edinburgh's Royal Mile on October 31st.
Presented by the Beltane Society, Samhuinn is Celtic New Year, marking the
end of summer, as well as being the night of the dead - a time for those
who died in the last year to visit their loved ones for one last time.
Featuring a spectacular exhibition of music, folk dance, physical theatre
and pyrotechnics on procession down the Royal Mile, the festival will
retell a traditional folk play, where the court of the Summer King is
defeated by the Winter King - with the help of plenty of fireworks."
If you would prefer to skip the pub, the Samhuinn Festival starts at 9pm
and sets off from the Castle Esplanade. http://www.beltane.org/
