Education Shouldn't be a Debt Sentence!
BC provides students with the least financial aid in Canada and tuition fees are above the national average.

At a time when personal debt threatens the fundamentals of our economy it's time to end the education debt sentence in BC.

University should be free in Canada. This is one of the richest countries in the world. Nothing to do with the Talibans. Statistics show in Canada if a baby girl is born poor much likely will dye poor, children living under the poverty line is a shame. Look for statistics and complete shocks. Not to mention the homelessness rate in this country. This is Capitalism nothing else. What do university graduates are for? to be modern slaves and on top you get a debt????

and the last thing. Developing countries have Universities that instead to ask for payments provide students with allowances. Not only to their citizens but to international students: http://www.elacm.sld.cu/.

Cuba has Canadian students with full grants studying medicine in their campus. Shame on Canada!

Living here New Brunswick, its great that they've frozen the tuiton rates, its just that there's not alot of eceltic programs available within the bigger cities. If they had the course, I've got to take in Edmonton, I would stay here.

tuition fees should not be reduced...they should be eliminated altogether. Isn`t it odd that the only people in Canada prohibited from declaring bankruptcy are students with onerous debt loads? End debt slavery.

Does anyone else think there is anything wrong with this picture--education is very expensive, but the expensive part of my loans were not the education portions--it was the living expenses when I was supporting a family while going to school. Now I will be paying interest on those groceries from years ago. Family and education are supposed to be our western ideals--why penalize people with children who are trying to better themselves.

Education Shouldn't be a Debt Sentence!
That's a really interesting and important way to look at what you are paying interest on years after graduation, Nadine.
The campaign's focus on education "portions" has to do with the fact that fees are arguably the easiest cost for government to tweak directly (reduce, eliminate etc). Student aid will always be necessary for living & transportation costs, but ideally in the form of grants, not loans.
