Elgato EyeTV
The Register Hardware site has recommended EyeTV DTT Deluxe in a review published today:
"It's the tuner for thin'n'light laptops and netbooks - whether
they run Mac OS X or Windows - where size and portability really
matter."

Review Elgato's previous EyeTV DTT Deluxe, which we reviewed in September 2008, was heralded as the world's smallest USB TV tuner. Just over a year on, and the company has launched a second record breaking tuner - one that's about half the size of its predecessor.

I'm working on replacing SageTV with EyeTV on a MAcMini Snow Leopard server. I'm using Itunes sharing to make the video's available throughout the house but the Exports to Itunes for the Clear Qam HD captures are without sound. The original recordings are perfect. They recorded on the very nice 250plus but the expor...ts to "Apple TV" are the problem. Non HD channels export just fine. I have the turbo.264 HD also installed. Is that being used automatically?Read More

Dave Jewell Hi. I'm considering buying the new EyeTV DTT Deluxe. Can you tell me if it will be compatible with FreeView HD transmissions in the UK? Thanks!

Fred
I also have an EyeTV Diversity.
I'm trying to access my recordings over local network. The iPhone is not picking it up even though it is enabled. Eyeconnectwatchdog and eyeconnect are NOT running in Activity monitor and I can't start them.
???

I have a Turbo.264 HD. I have a series of clips in a project in iMovie, with transitions, audio effects, music tracks and trimmings.
When I export using Turbo.264 HD every few frames become blocky like VGA resolution. I am exporting at 1080p 16Mb/s
Funnily enough, exporting using Quicktime then converting the resulting file takes only a little longer, but gives me a wonderful file.

I have an Elgato Diversity, I live in London and yet I receive no channels at all. Im running Snow Leopard with the latest software update! I have even set my Diversity to do an Exhaustive Scan and still nothing! I spoke to a representative from Elgato doing a business workshop at my local Apple Store and the only thin...g he explained to me is that "it's supposed to work" what am I to do? Not good advertising for your product! I've have read on forums that this is a very common problem with Mac users and your ENTIRE product range not just the Diversity?!Read More

Well it is finally here and EyeTV DTT Deluxe is even smaller and more impressive than I expected. Elgato's new USB TV device for both PC and Mac has to be one

Lawrence Placide I have a bunch of PAL tapes but now am in an NTSC area. If I use Video Capture and a NTSC VCR to transfer to my Mac, will the output be viewable?

Manny Golez Help...Just picked up the Elgato hybrid to transfer old VHS tapes to my macbook. I can't get it to work. I went thru the whole set up a few times and it doesn't seem to work. I keep getting the no signal message. Anybody have any idea?

Claudia Butera
while I wait for my registration to get activated, perhaps someone can help...I'm using eyetv hybrid with the regular signal through the coax....why doesn't the program info correspond to the channel? When changing channels, the program info says for example that a channel is bravo network, (i wish!) but it's soo not. ...How is this corrected? and how do I know what channels are actually transmitted through the coax? thanksRead More

Firstly, eyeTV's a great product... it's changed my life (I wonder what that says about my life?). OK downgrade that a bit... it's made watching my favourite TV shows a lot easier and more enjoyable.
There's one tiny thing you can do that would make it even easier and more enjoyable - and you've probably already heard t...his plenty of times but I'll add my voice anyway - it's be great if you could sort playlists, smart guides etc, at the very least, alphabetically.
Even better, if you could see your playlists and smart guides in the main pane somehow (like you can recordings), you could sort by many different criteria... date created, etc. You could perhaps even rate playlists (for that matter, how about being able to rate recordings?) to help you find your favourite shows more easily.
I know this sounds like it's becoming a "me-too" iTunes, but what's wrong with iTunes?Read More
