The Gifford Park Association in Elgin, Illinois will be hosting its 28th Annual Historic Elgin House Tour on Saturday September 12, 2009. The Gifford Park Association (GPA) is a non-profit neighborhood organization committed to Historic Preservation and Neighborhood Revitalization.
Elgin Historic House Tour This year's Tour is unique in that it includes homes from three (3) adjacent historic neighborhoods. Eight (8) homes will be open for the Tour, four (4) of which are in Elgin’s oldest residential neighborhood. Designated as a local Historic District in 1981 and registered on The National Register of Historic Landmarks ...in 1983, this is the home of the Gifford Park Association. Three (3) homes are within the Lords Park neighborhood and one home is within the Summit-Park & Settlement Neighborhood.
