Is it me, Elisabeth, or are all these changes I'm hearing via the media seem kind of ridiculous? I don't mean to seem insensitive to women (men, too) or to suggest medical personel seem scatterbrained, but this information regarding letting up on mammograms and other such treatments seems like it would only serve to confuse women (especially ... See Moreinexperienced ladies). I've seen this bit on the news quite a bit lately and I know that while x-ray doses can be over-used, but has that been a problem? I'm fussy about cancer and, well, I'm apprehensive about what news is beinig dished out. And I don't even know any women but that's not to say that I don't have feelings for them. The cartoons are cute. The pink fuzzy dice kind of went over my head but I think I got the gist of the cartoons. http://cagle.com/news/Mammograms/images/heller.jpg

Elisabeth Squires a/k/a The b00b Lady New mammography guidelines cause controversy; some fear it will reduce reimbursement of breast cancer screenings by insurance companies.

www.washingtonpost.com
Women in their 40s should stop routinely having annual mammograms and older women should cut back to one scheduled exam every other year, an influential federal task force has concluded, challenging the use of one of the most common medical tests.

I didn't realize you posted this link. I wonder what the origin of some of these slang words come from? (Such as the word "boobs". How people come up with what I see as funny terms eludes me. My origina understandingl of a "boob" is a critcal term used for a "knucklehead".

Thank you, Elisabeth, for that reference. The only part of the explanaton that eluded me was "hence, in child-talk, "breast"". I'll just have to accept that in faith. Funny how some of our slang dates back so far ago. Makes me wonder how much of what we say these days might have takenn on a different meaning many years ago. Well, except for the word "boob". Man seems to have clung on to that meaning well enough. Go figure. Thank you again!

Frank I did see the advertising of your book advertised on Evening Magazine's website. Well done and very sensibly done. Although I have no need for the understanding of bras, I watched the video curious how it would be presented and you're a very good speaker. I used to have that knack...but it went it's own way. Good luck!

I did look at your website. I watched the self-exam video and never having been able to figure out the mind of the human being, I have spent quite a few years working with animals---Right now with wild mallard ducks. The two men you invited onstage showed a lot of body language (understandably). I laughed at that. But you had a very good delievry ... See Moreof self-exams and I suspect that while you understood the feeling sof the audience and the men on stage, you explanations were easy to understand and you stayed focused. Given the subject matter, I would have had a lot of trouble with that (never been married and rarely have known girls and a natural shyness). But you do well with people. Good for you! And there's a great need - and desire - for someone who has an interest in someone's well bieng. The best part of a women's breasts are found in her heart. Thank you.
