Elizabeth Hopkinson A very happy Christmas to all my friends and fans, and I will do my best to write more for you all in the new year.

Elizabeth Hopkinson I have won 2nd prize in the Mifiction competition with my entry, The Masqued Mirror. This is a competition for choose-your-own-adventure type stories to be read on mobile phones. The opening chapter will appear on the Mifiction website, and I have been offered a contract to develop the rest of the story for publication in the new year.

Elizabeth Hopkinson I will be having a stall at Clayton Dickensian Market (5th December 11am-5pm) to sell and promote my work. Hope to see some of you there!

Elizabeth Hopkinson Found this today. It's about the book launch last Thursday (which was an excellent event). The official photos haven't come out yet, but you can see some on here!

Last night Monica Fairview (The Other Mr Darcy) and I went to the book launch of Dancing with Mr Darcy. If you haven't heard about this book before it's a selection of short stories inspired by Chawton and connections to Jane Austen. ...

Elizabeth Hopkinson Going to the launch event for Dancing with Mr Darcy next Thursday (15th October) at Foyles Bookshop in London. Exciting!

Elizabeth Hopkinson I've been asked to speak at the University of Leeds Arts and Humanities Careers Expo, on the "Creative Writing and Publishing" panel, on 18th November. Feels strange (especially considering how invisible I felt when I was a student there) but exciting too. (Am I really that famous??)

Elizabeth Hopkinson Swanwick Writers' Summer School this year was great (if exhausting)! Several people appreciated my talk on short fantasy ficiton, and I sold all the copies of My True Love that I had brought with me (and signed a few). Also, I felt really part of it this year, and got lots of help with the business/promotional side o...f writing, as well as having lots of fun. Can't wait for next year!

Elizabeth Hopkinson Went to Chawton House, Hampshire on Saturday to the reception for the finalists of the Jane Austen competition. It was really nice to meet the other authors and its a totally magical house too!

Elizabeth Hopkinson One of my fanfictions (And by the Love of Him Also) has been nominated for a Middle-earth Fanfiction Award. (Weird or what?)

Elizabeth Hopkinson My story, "The Delaford Ladies' Detective Agency" has made it to the finals of the Jane Austen Short Story Award and will appear in the winners' anthology, "Dancing with Mr Darcy" in October.
