Flowers by the Sea - A small organic family farm and nursery Our newest Salvia. Now at 38 on-line. Only another 175 or so to go!

(Mid-East Sage) Native to the mountains shared by Israel and Lebanon, this tidy sage is drought resistant, warmth tolerant and flowers over a long period of time.

Flowers by the Sea - A small organic family farm and nursery A most interesting new Salvia for us. Reputed to have extraordinary effects, having been used for centuries by some of the strongest and fastest native peoples of Mexico.

(Grape Scented Sage) Widely distributed Mexican sage has been used by the Tamahumara for centuries. For the gardener today, it offers drought resistance, beautiful and grape scented lavender flowers and a tidy habit.

Flowers by the Sea - A small organic family farm and nursery Of interest to any who buy from mail order nurseries.

Soil mix formulas are probably sold on the black market. Getting it just right means more than just the health of the plant. Consider the weight, mineral content, source, perish ability, impact on the planet.

Flowers by the Sea - A small organic family farm and nursery For those wondering why this year's produce is late, here is a picture of 1/4 inch diameter hail taken at 2:00 P.M. on May 10th!

We have lost almost 1/8 of our strawberry crop to the late and unseasonable rain.

Rain is good, but this radical change in pattern makes life difficult for small farmers like us.

Flowers by the Sea - A small organic family farm and nursery First bloom of the season for this Passiflora, 'Monika Fischer'. More varieties over the next few weeks.

Flowers by the Sea - A small organic family farm and nursery Masdevallia kimballiana 'Forever Yellow'. These flowers are over 2 1/4 inches across!
Easy to grow in well ventilated, moist shade. This is a primary hybrid of M. veitchiana and M. caudata, so there is great F1 vigor.
