Tanglewood Nature Center & Museum We have had Millie and Sophie, the Virginia Opossums, for 2 years this month! A wild opossum's life-expectancy is 1-2 years, so our girls are old-timers!

Tanglewood Nature Center & Museum Ladybugs! There are ladybugs all over the outside of the Nature Center today. They are gathering together to hibernate. Ladybugs release pheremones that tell other ladbugs that they have found a good, cozy place to spend the winter. Come check them out and enjoy the beautiful weather. Our trails are open until sunset!

Tanglewood Nature Center & Museum Meet Icarus, the broad-winged hawk. Icarus gets restless this time of year. If he could survive in the wild he would be on his way to Central or South America with thousands of other broad-wings. We try to get him out to his outdoor enclosure as much as possible while the weather is still mild. Come see Icarus and ...our other animals and enjoy the fall foliage!
