The U.S. Chamber was caught red-handed trying to raise $50,000 to hire a "respected economist" to "study" (read: attack) health care reform. They fight to block labor law reform every day – not just the Employee Free Choice Act, but sick days for swine flu. ...

Good for them. They are millionaires, but as they well know they can be bought and sold at nearly anytime. Imagine if your boss told you that you'd been traded to your same job -- but in Cleveland!

Unfortunately the EFCA has taken a back seat to healthcare reform. In actuality they go hand in hand. Workers rights and health care rights.

@Craig: Well, "card check" is what it used to be called when I was in SEIU 2021. We got our shop organized on a card check back in 2000. The labor leadership would seem to have changed the terminology to reflect the real nature of the process as a PR move--which is a good thing. But using the old term doesn't make one a Fox News fan. I called it ... Read Morethat for years, and I am 100% in favor of the process and EFCA--as first steps back onto the path of growing and strengthening worker organization in the US. Next comes *union democracy*--long, long overdue.

The EFCA is the best thing that will ever hapopen for the working individual. With the passage of this act, workers will NOT be subject to mass intimidation from non union bosses and the workers themselves decide if they want to be union or not. Go sister

I applaud all the efforts and support the passing of the employee free choice act.
