While tobacco advertising is present in all communities, studies show that advertisements in low socioeconomic communities are much higher than in high socioeconomic communities.

One study conducted by the Center for Community-Based Research and the Department of Society, Human Development and Health at the Harvard School of Public Health ... See Moreconcluded the "tobacco industry is actively present in community settings, particularly in communities with a low socioeconomic profile (SEP). Tobacco control researchers and advocates need to continue to monitor the tobacco industry's behavior at the community level and develop strategies to counter this behavior." In Wisconsin, it is crucial we support quality health throughout all communities!
