Endurance Planet

Endurance Planet If you could eliminate the swim, bike, or run from a triathlon, which discipline would you elimate? And what activity would you put in its place (to keep it a triathlon?) Keep it clean folks...I may use some of these answers in the next Endurance Planet Hour.

The obvious: swimming. I'd replace it with competitive eating. That alone would give me pro status. I'd have both Nike and KFC as my sponsors.

Toss the swim for a paddle! Or toss the swim and simply make it a duathlon!?

Endurance Planet Trying to get myself psyched for next training program in two weeks...but honestly, since I don't entirely know what I did wrong last time (3.13 when I worked for 2.59) it's hard to get 100% buy-in from my heart and mind.

I hear you...need to start new training, but struggling getting out there. I hit my primary goal for fall race, but wasn't where I could have been given my training. Slower recovery runs, and more speed work (instead of 'racing' for speedwork) are probably the answer for me too. : )

I am not--and never have been--a cheerleader type of coach. I encourage and direct my clients to the goals they are trying to accomplish. I remember when I was with TNT (Team-In-Training), I would see these coaches dressed in silly outfits and carrying cowbells cheering on their team. ...

Endurance Planet I know none of you ever access Facebook at work (cough, cough) but if you do, you can listen to this week's EP Hour while you work.

Source: www.enduranceplanet.com
This week on The Endurance Planet Hour we take some time to hear from listeners who called in to answer the question, "How far have you come?" It's an example of how ordinary people can do extraordinary things. ...

Endurance Planet Who applies lessons learned from endurance sports to business? And what would those lessons be?

Endurance Planet

Endurance Planet When you go through a motivational low-point in your training, is it best to take a complete break until it comes back (the passion)? My tendency...pull back a little on the training, watch your nutrition, stay reasonably fit...and when your fire returns you'll still be in a reasonably good place to launch off.

Endurance Planet

Endurance Planet I'm noticing that "The Endurance Planet Hour" is getting a little guy-heavy. Let's get some extraordinary women in the mix...let's hear some of your stories. You can always shoot me contact info via kevin@enduranceplanet.com.

I'm going to put this one out there again...you folks are too humble apparently for this question. :-) "Tell me how far you've come. From couch to 5k, 10k, marathon, ultramarathon, triathlon, adventure race??? From heavy to lean? From unsure to confident? 206-337-4222. Your answers may be used for The Endurance Plane...t Hour on Monday. Just call and leave your message. Thank you!! Can't wait to hear your story!"Read More

Endurance Planet Just posted this audio download for our monthly members. It's 35-minutes of insights on nutrition and weight loss from Human Kinetics. Unlike fad diets, Human Kinetics authors are adamant that "exercise IS a vital component of any weight loss plan." Hope you find this helpful. KP

I learned an important lesson on a 14-miler two years ago that has stuck with me ever since. It seems especially applicable in light of our struggling economy, people without jobs, and a sometimes bleak outlook.
