EIA’s vision is a future where humanity respects, protects and celebrates the natural world for the benefit of all. But our environment is being destroyed by people who see it as a financial resource to be exploited

Very disappointing to see the laws protecting snow leopards and tigers so openly flaunted by Chinese business people and officials. A great piece of investigative reporting by EIA - congratulations. Lets now put more pressure on China to enforce the laws they are a signatory to for the protection of these beautiful highly endangered species.

I thought Year of the Tiger could be a positive thing for conservation of big cats - sadly not so without our huge efforts.

Environmental Investigation Agency China fails to stop Tiger Trade

In the run up to the Year of the Tiger, China is failing in its duty to protect endangered species

Source: www.eia-international.org
In the run up to the Year of the Tiger, China is failing in its duty to protect endangered species, with tiger skins and bones being illegally bought and sold across the country, and many enforcement agencies turning a blind eye.

This is really heartbreaking...and what is sad is that other wild cats, such as leopards and lions, are suffering because of the poaching for TCM, now that tigers are rarer and poachers are still trying to supply cat bones. I am worried that there will be NO wild cats of any kind left at the rate we are going.

Sometimes you have to ask the difficult questions, move out the comfort zone. If charities do not regularly re-assess how effective they are being then they are potentially letting down their supporters and the animals they are supposed to be protecting

Environmental Investigation Agency EIA ON CLIMATE CHANGE

Climate change is one of the greatest challenges facing the world. A mere 2°C rise in temperature will place 30% of species at risk of extinction; while shortages of food and water could trigger massive movements of people leading to migration, conflict and famine. We need to take urgent measures to slow down and reduce the extent of the climate crisis.

Environmental Investigation Agency China under pressure over 'tiger farms'

Over the last 10 years EIA has been campaigning for the phase out of tiger farms, which continue to undermine efforts to save wild tigers by stimulating demand for tiger parts.

It finally looks as if our efforts are paying off as the international community has come together to hold China to account on its obligation to close its tiger farms.

Unfortunately it is restricted to UK entrants (as per item 7 in the T&C). We also have to ask that entrants are 18 years of age or over.

If this competition is successful we will try and run another that will be open to international supporters as well. In the mean time please accept out apologies. If you do have any UK contacts we would be incredibly grateful for your support in sharing this.

Thanks you.
