Mental Health Association of Northwestern PA Shawn Tubbs studied Art Therapy at Mercyhurst College. He completed his field assignment at the MHANP.org. This is a small portion of what he accomplished during his internship.

The MHA has been designated as the Erie County Warming Center. This is a good use of our facilities since they are ordinarily unused at night. The facility will be open when the overnight wind chill is expected to be below 20F. The WJET weather report is the basis for ths decision.
Erie County Executive Mark DiVecchio's... office has responded to the need for a safe haven from this winter's frigid night weather for those who do not have shelter or a safe place to be at night.
Although the County is providing much of the money needed to continue this mission, our budget is being severely strained. Help from the community is very much needed.
