Hi Erika! When your book first came out, my friend John Murphy wrote a Courier review that ended with "everyone should read this book." Being a big fan of John's opinions, that was enough for me to buy the book, which I started at the time, but apparently the timing wasn't right for me because I didn't finish... unti...l earlier this year, after booking an adventure riding the TransMongolian Express from Beijing to Moscow, with 3 days scheduled in UB, including one night in a ger camp. Your book came off the shelf to my great pleasure and delight... all of the rave reviews are right on. Now that I too was captured by the magic of Mongolia, am planning to re-read WTPE this fall. Thanx for a terrific contribution to my journey.
When will you be out here for a public presentation again? Looking for a venue? The Claremont Forum would be a terrific fit...
PS - I was saddened to read your dad's obit - tho understand more fully where your worldview and sensitivities originate.

Anne Pepelko Jacobsen Hi Erika. I read Where the Pavement Ends many years ago (and loved it!) and had the pleasure of discovering that my neighbor/friend (Helen S.) knows you well! What a small world! I love to hear about your adventures...so please keep writing.

Erik Nehls its been a few years since i read your book, but i still think about the families you wrote about. there are many lessons to be shared from east to west (and back). my most memorable story... "can my son ride his horse to america?" was such an honest question... and i thank you for sharing the the 'world' with his fam...ily! :) reading any good books yorself lately?

Erika Warmbrunn Dear Becky - Thanks so much! I hope you keep enjoying wtpe (I'm afraid I become a little less fun to travel with as I get weary near the end...).

Becky I'm reading "Where the Pavement Ends" and loving it! What an adventure!
