| Company Overview: | Esperanza Community Housing Corporation has been working for the comprehensive community development of the Figueroa Corridor of South Central Los Angeles since 1989. We maintain 165 units of affordable housing, perform health outreach for tens of thousands of families and have trained 310 community health promoters from our neighborhood, serve over 400 children in after-school and off-track tutoring and arts & sciences programs, and have created almost 100 jobs at the Mercado La Paloma. |
| Mission: | Esperanza seeks to create opportunities for community residents’ growth, security, participation, recognition, and ownership through developing and preserving affordable housing, creating opportunities for child care, ensuring quality education, promoting accessible health care, stimulating involvement in arts and culture, pursuing economic development, and advocating for progressive public policy. Through partnerships with churches, schools, block clubs and other community institutions, Esperanza helps to strengthen the social infrastructure of the neighborhood. In all of our actions, Esperanza strives always to build hope with community. |
