TALLINN (AFP) — Twenty-two thousand Estonians will sing together in a single choir when their small Baltic nation hosts a traditional festival that preserved national identity through decades of Soviet occupation.


EstAdventures The anniversary of the end of WWII is a strange time in Estonia. I visited the bronze soldier monument on Saturday as part of the Communist Estonia Tour. This was the soviet era statue that was moved two years ago, resulting in riots. On Saturday there were hundreds of Russian-Estonians laying flowers, including a red star floral arrangement. The attitudes of Russians and Estonians are worlds apart.
