Saturday, August 1, 2009: Self esteem comes from giving freely of what you find. "Service. It's a lovely concept--for those who have the time and the money." I can't begin to tell you how often I've heard that statement. And my response is almost always the same, service is for people who want to feel better about themselves and their lives. No, you don't give back so you can get kudos, but without question, one of the benefits to giving freely of what you've been given, is a sense of self that is surpassed by nothing else. And, contrary to popular belief, it doesn't take alot. There are many ways you can give back---everything from donating money, to donating little or alot of time, to putting coins in someone's meter or paying their toll, to mentoring youth or less seasoned members in your industry, to providing free services, to anything you can think of. How are you serving today? Until tomorrow, what Esteemable Action are you taking? Much love, Francine
