Ted Hanson Ethan, What is your stand on equality rights for gays and lesbians in Alaska? I notice Bob Poe and Hollis French regard equality rights as an issue on their webiste but you do not address it at all. Is it a non-issue to you? I hope you have time to answer this question. Thanks a lot and good luck!

I intend to make food production and food security a focus for my administration. Alaska’s ranchers and farmers can put more Alaskan grown and harvested food on our tables. When Alaskans eat Alaska grown it’s good for our health, good for our economy, and good for our independence.

Ethan Berkowitz Busy weekend in the Mat-Su for me. Spoke to the Mat-Su Democrats on Friday -- http://progressivealaska.blogspot.com/2009/11/ethan-berkowitz-at-anchorage-dl-and.html -- and then went to Palmer on Sunday. My brother-in-law's (Brian Kimmel) film "Ingredients" made its Alaska premier. And this heat wave (20s) is sure saving on wood for the stove!

Ethan Berkowitz Mara and I got to see the President. At Elmendorf. With thousands of our military, their families and supporters. It was an honor to be there, and a real reminder that this country is much stronger and healthier when we elevate true patrotism over petty partisanship. And it was a thrill to watch Air Force One taxi the runway and fly in Alaska's skies.

Ethan Berkowitz The Food Bank of Alaska put on a fundraiser last night, a terrific event highlighting real need in our community. More than 80,000 different Alaskans take advantage of their services each year -- that's more than one in ten of us. With the holiday season coming up, the need is greater than ever.

Where's our snow in Homer? My lake is freezing. The ice booming sounds like someone whacking an I-beam with a sledgehammer.
