Team Eva Royale for District 9 Supervisor

About Me:

Eva was born and raised in the Central Valley of California in the town of Hanford. She came to San Francisco in the 1970's to attend San Francisco State University. She became a student leader fighting for affirmative action while earning her degree in economics and La Raza Studies. She is a M.S.W. candidate focusing on Community Organizing.

While attending SFSU she met her husband Gene. Together they raised four great kids and five grandchildren in the City.

Eva took the lead to form the Justice for Dolores Huerta Coalition after Dolores was beaten by members of the SFPD. Eva's work lead to a change in policy regarding police reaction and tactics to legal social protests. Eva and Dolores became close friends during this time and continue to work together today on many social justice issues and campaigns. In recent years, Eva worked with her mentor Dolores, as the Development Director for the Dolores Huerta Foundation whose mission is to train organizers and woman leaders.

Eva served as a Regional Manager and spokesperson for the United Farm Workers and has worked tirelessly with Labor/Neighbor and the San Francisco Democratic Party.

Eva is a candidate for Supervisor in District 9 - representing the Mission, Bernal Heights, St. Mary's Park and Portola neighborhoods.
