About Me:
I am a United States Senator from Indiana currently serving my second term. During my time in the Senate, I have been a leader in providing troops with much-needed armored vehicles; I called for sanctions to put real pressure on Iran; and I authored a comprehensive, bipartisan energy plan that would dramatically reduce dependence on foreign oil in 10 years. Prior to being elected to the Senate, I served two terms as Governor of Indiana.

One of my proudest political accomplishments is the creation of the 21st Century Scholars program, which provides underprivileged students the opportunity to attend college. The 21st Century Scholars program has helped more than 100,000 Hoosier students achieve their dreams of attending college and helped moved Indiana from 40th in the nation for sending students to college to ninth.
