Jack Ridel

Jack Ridel What's the difference between a Emad & a Emad2 kick drum skin, apart from the Emad2 being 2ply and the Emad being single ply... I'm just wondering which one is more suited for me... I play Hard Rock in my band at the moment, which one would you suggest?

Both heads offer a defined attack and low-end, but the EMAD2 is 2-ply, therefore it's more durable and suited for hard rock, aggressive playing and double bass.

Dang that's sweet! Saw a stacked drumset cake once, sticks hanging off the sides, all edible. That must've taken forever to pull off!

Jim Thiede

Jim Thiede It has to be "Phil Ehart" of "Kansas". Years ago- the Atlanta Rythym section was supposed to open for them- they were snowed in and couldn't make it- Kansas kicked ass for hours and hours- Phils solo was amazing- complete with phase shifters on the cymbals, and his technical mastery, and his phrasing. It had to be good...- i still remember it 30 years later!

AnnaMarie Rivas

AnnaMarie Rivas For jazz I would go with the late Louis Belson. I learned a lot from him as a musician as well as a drummer. For rock, too many choices, but I'll go with Keith Moon (no I'm not into dead guys, just quality performers).
