Eventseer.net PubOpp (http://www.pubopp.com/) seems to offer a service similar to Eventseer - but it is only available "on a subscription basis to universities, corporations and research organizations through EBSCO Host." Have a look if you can...

Came across ticTOC today: http://www.tictocs.ac.uk. ticTOC describes itself as a journal table of contents service that "makes it easy for academics, researchers, students and anyone else to keep up-to-date with newly published scholarly material by enabling them to find, display, store, combine and reuse thousands of ...journal tables of contents from multiple publishers."
Setting up issue alerts with a number of different publishers was always a pain, so I'm hoping this actually becomes comprehensive enough for it to be useful. Right now the search is a little quirky and it looks like they are still missing some of my favorite journals - but do check it out.Read More

Eventseer.net Minor update: The search bugs mentioned below (when searching for [Berners-Lee] and ["management in education"]) have been fixed.

Eventseer.net
Øystein: Yup, that's indeed a bug. I'm thinking it might be caused by the hyphen in [Berners-Lee]. Will look into it.
About having the track-me button in lists: Good idea! I will see what I can do about it.

Eventseer.net
MacBegemot: Hm, that is actually a very subtle bug.
If you search for [management in education] you get all the results where one or more of the terms occur, including the one you are looking for but only after 60 or so other results (when sorted by date).
On the other hand, searching for ["management in education"] (the... whole phrase) ought to return your cfp, but doesn't.
There are two reasons for this. The first is that I don't index the call for paper title (which I should). The second is that a part of the mentioned phrase is annotated as a link in the call text. There is a currently a small bug that prevents the search engine from recognizing the whole phrase when this occurs.
I will look into it - thanks for letting me know!Read More

MacBegemot: Is it this one?: http://eventseer.net/e/8550/. It was added last Wednesday.
Right now the event submission procedure is limited to email only, but I'm hoping to include options for both form and url submission (and maybe pdf submissions as well down the road).

Eventseer.net Amund: I'll make sure to send you a t-shirt once I'm done with the design... :)

Eventseer.net
Johan: It is a one-click solution, although I'll admit it could be more intuitive...
Just click on the star icon next to the event or topic name, and it will be added to your tracker. That way, the deadlines of all events you follow will appear in your calendar.
The next release will probably replace the star icon with a "track me" button.

I just came across Mendeley (http://www.mendeley.com/), which looks interesting.
Mendeley allows you to build a research library by automatically extracting metadata from research paper PDFs. The library can then be exported to Endnote, Bibtex and other formats.
The metadata extraction works fairly well, but be prepared ...to add some missing details. Once you have your local library in place, it can be uploaded to your Mendeley account, where you can also get statistics on papers uploaded by other people and connect with "like-minded academics".
It looks promising and is well worth a try.Read More
