Whatever happened to LAM?

Regarding the food bar, I have lunch there practically every week day, and have always come away more than satisfied (and full). You may find - if you haven't been to us for a while, that in the evenings now the franchise holders are putting on a selection of hot, plated meals in addition to panninis, soup, salads, baked potatoes etc etc.

The Dame Barbara Hepworth sculpture that graced the foyer since the theatre opened in 1967 was removed to a place of safety on the University campus during building works in 2007. For various reasons (involving insurance and ownership), it is unlikely that it will be returned to its niche. I speak for myself, and do not necessarily reflect anyone else's opinion, but I don't think it's position in the foyer showed the Hepworth off to its best advantage: it's a 3-dimensional bronze, and you could only ever see one side of it! Ideally, I think, Hepworth's sculptures should have lots of space around them, and preferably should be out of doors.

I'm Press & PR Manager for Exeter Northcott, and in response to Donna Raven's initial question I am happy to report that this Autumn our stage is full of plays. Our co-production with English Touring Theatre of Far From The Madding Crowd has just finished a very succesful run, to be followed in October by Trestle Theatre with Lola (the story of an Irish woman in the 19th century who became notorious for impersonating a Spanish dancer); Happy & Married?, a new work from Freedom Studios and award winning director Madani Younis; the Lifeblood Theatre / Globe Theatre co-production of Liberty and, in November, a revival of Pilot Theatre's adaptation of William Golding's Lord of the Flies. Plus our own community company stage Sarah Kane's Crave, and local stage school Stage by Stage put on The King and I. The Northcott Theatre Company are back at Christmas with The Sleeping Beauty, a traditional panto, and we hope to produce more in-house professional drama in the new year.

Andy Palmer, is it the Arts Council's fault, or the XN's current management?

And why is the food bar so crap? It barely has snacks.

And what have they done with the Barbara Hepworth sculpture?
