Exhale Dance Tribe
Exhale Dance Tribe is hosting an event called Choreographer's Collex on December 5th & 6th @ Planet Dance in Cincinnati.
1. A choreographic competition..Submit a piece of your own work for a chance to win case prizes along with the winning piece getting a chance to perform at the Aronoff January 8th & 9th with Exhale D...ance Tribe.
2. A full day of dance class!!...Kristen Denehy from LA, MIssy Lay Zimmer & Andrew Hubbard, Ashley Klein, Jen Porteous, and a surprise master teacher will be having a one day workshop full of all styles of dance! Even if you aren't interested in entering a piece of choreography don't miss this chance for LA and NY to come to your front door!!
3. A Invitational Solo Competition....DO you have a solo prepared you would love feedback and cash prizes for? Enter the one day workshop and our instructors will invite a number of dancers to compete their solo December 6th for prizes and awards at the end of the day...What a great opportunity!!
Cost for Event...
$100 workshop if you are involved in a piece competing in the competition
$125 workshop if you are not involved in the competition
$50 Solo fee if you are invited to compete :)

Exhale Dance Tribe presents “Collection Complete”. The tribe will be collaborating with outside choreographers to heighten and broaden the voice and movement vocabulary of Cincinnati's premier contemporary jazz dance company.
Co- founders Andrew Hubbard and Missy Lay Zimmer present “La La Land”, “Mourning Dreams” an...d “Dust” - animated caricatures of young women finding their 'ROAR'! Adolescence free-forms in this ego tripping, planet hopping, juxtaposition of little girls in outer space..........
Byron Carter presents “At This Moment” – a political hip hop piece exhibiting hope for world change in support of President Elect Barack Obama.
Andrew Turteltaub presents “A New Day” – a refreshing representation of shedding old habits and selves in search of a more meaningful existence.
Jennifer Porteous Rutherford presents “The Apathy of Time” – the apathy of time laughs in my face, discounting the human experience, making secret signals only to the trees. “They” will be here much longer than I, outlining my silent stay like prison bars, their crooked fingers pointing to the map.
The Tribe will round out the 2009 season featuring six different, very diverse movement architects, making this year, in particular, the most eclectic, full- spectrum season Exhale has ever had. For additional information on upcoming performances visit www.exhaledancetribe.com.

Exhale Dance Tribe presents This is No Ordinary Life!, an eclectic compilation of choreographic works by dance architects Missy Lay Zimmer and Andrew Hubbard. This is No Ordinary Life! is a kaleidoscope look at the human condition, exploring relationships and emotional responses. The Tribe members put poetry in motion ...as they interpret raw emotions solicited from everyday life. Each piece is it's own interpretation of an emotional response, including works such as The Ravaged Bridegroom, a negotiation between a woman and her masculinity, and Through Your Eyes, the story of a young woman witnessing self illumination through another's eyes. This collection is a must see!
All performances will be at the Contemporary Arts Center.
