Extinction Sucks follows the real life adventures of two best friends from Perth in Western Australia. Conservation duo Aleisha Caruso and Ashleigh Young are a far cry from the khaki-clad, safari suit wearing scientists one usually associates with the word -'conservation', and they'll go to any lengths to bamboozle people into parting with their money to help endangered animal species around the world.

The girls’ sense of foolery and adventure infuses every challenge they take on, but they never sugar-coat the facts or shy away from telling it like it is.

In each of the series’ half-hour episodes, the girls are challenged to mount an expedition to help a particular species of animal. Their unique fund-raising stunts publicise the cause and carry the message that anyone and everyone can do their bit to help.

Their journeys around the globe are never easy. Our cameras are right in the thick of the action as Aleisha and Ash race against time and battle with the elements to fulfill their mission. Getting to the location in one piece can be as big a challenge as the mission itself!

The girls finally bring us face to face with the animal and its kind, allowing us to get to know each individual they work with on the way.

Extinction Sucks is a refreshing take on the conservation message. Aleisha and Ashleigh have a very different approach. To them, conservation isn’t about suits and summits. It’s about taking charge and taking action – and having loads of fun along the way as they help to keep the animals they love protected from extinction. (read less)
