FLAVORS OF ROME Il Gattopardo: another New York restaurant find on my blog. The end note - Pastiera Napoletana, the incredible orangey-lemony ricotta cake. http://flavorsofrome.blogspot.com/

Following a recipe in Italy has nothing to do with measuring cups and spoons. There aren't any measuring cups and spoons as I discovered when I asked some Roman chefs, friends, and other members of the general population. ...

FLAVORS OF ROME Roman Pizza - thin crispy crust at Pizzeria Montecarlo off Corso Vittorio on Vicolo Savelli. If I hadn't been in such a hurry to eat it all up, I would have taken a better photo.

For years, nearly under my nose and on my well-beaten path in Rome. Picture here, bucoli (whole wheat pasta of the Veneto) with shrimp, tomatoes & parsley, thoroughly enjoyed in the company of writ...er Susan Van Allen and sommelier Heather Hanson.

FLAVORS OF ROME Pizza e fichi sounds like a strange kind of lunch. But nothing could be sweeter than a last of the Roman figs, called settembrini, stuffed inside Rome's pizza bianca (white pizza - the name doesn't quite do it justice) with a thin slice of prosciutto.
