Faces & Voices of Recovery
Faces & Voices of Recovery and the National Association for Children of Alcoholics are partnering for the 34th Marine Corps Marathon to raise public awareness and celebrate and honor recovery in all its diversity. Join us – make the commitment to get fit and have fun while speaking for the families who need a voice.
If... you are interested in running the Marine Corps Marathon on October 25, 2009, we can help. We have 50 registrations for this race which has closed for registration. We are participating in a training program offered by Marathon Charity Partners for anyone local to the Washington, DC metro area. It’s early in our training program and if you can finish 5 miles, you’re on target!
It’s fun and easy to join our charity team! You will receive a registration for the race, an official race packet, pre-race pasta dinner, goody bag and the training program. In exchange you will raise money for a worthy cause.
• The marathon is open to runners ages 14 and over who are able to complete the 26.2-mile course within a 7-hour time limit. Runners ages 10 and up are invited to participate in the 10K.
• Participants must complete the registration form (paper or on-line) in full, then mail or fax it back with a non-refundable commitment fee of $150 for the marathon or $100 for the 10K.
• Each participant will be required to raise a minimum contribution of $1500 (marathon) or $1000 (10K).
• Each participant will be responsible for any balance of the minimum required still outstanding on race day.
• We will provide hotel accommodations for one night for participants from outside of Washington DC and its environs. The required minimum will be increased to $1700 (marathon) or $1200 (10K).
