FamilyLife Today Interesting thought today from Nancy Leigh DeMoss. If we would only have tomorrow that which we thanked the Lord for today how much would we have tomorrow? If tomorrow’s supply depended on today’s thanksgiving how much would I have tomorrow? You can follow Nancy on her Facebook Page at Revive Our Hearts with Nancy Leigh DeMoss.

FamilyLife Today Gratitude really is a choice. Dennis quoted Chuck Swindoll saying that 10% of life is what happens to us. The other 90% is how we react to it. Do you choose to only embrace the roses? Or will you enbrace the thorns as well?

FamilyLife Today Ron Deal mentioned today that expectations need to be different for stepmoms and to be thankful for the relationship you have each day. He also said it takes 5 to 7 years to integrate as a family. What has been your experience?

Thanks you for talking about this subject that seems to be an untalked about, untouchable subject. It really helps because most people think they get married and live happily ever after with no struggles. Before I married as a "step" I was cluless.

I married a woman with a 5 year old daughter (at the time) and we never hit it off. She went to stay with her Dad after 4 years. Our marriage lasted 17 years and we had 2 lovely daughters - one that is married and has twins. But the marriage was not easy at all. And unless you purposely work at it and get help when you need it (and a lot of prayer), you're probably not going to make it, short of God's intervention.....just my experience.

FamilyLife Today A very moving moment by Brett Harris speaking to the young contestants and their parents at the Bible Bee in Washington, DC. "You could win the National Bible Bee and still go to hell. You could know the Bible better than any young person in the country and still not know the savior...Thorough knowledge of scripture is useless if it is not accompanied by this believing heart of faith."

FamilyLife Today Have you ever stopped someone and given them kudos for the work they do? The janitor? The cleaning lady? The childcare worker? Unfortunately it's not something we think to do that often.

As someone who has been in a service job for the last 17 years those thoughtful comments make my day. I try to remember to thank anyone who is providing a service for me. It is such and easy way to share the love of Christ that flows through us.
