Unfortunately, bad has become normal in terms of how we eat and how we produce food. Our health, our planet, and other animals suffer by our harmful and illogical habit of consuming meat, milk and eggs.

By Jasmin My favorite thing to do at my Thanksgiving meal is to place a photo of a rescued turkey from Farm Sanctuary’s Adopt-A- Turkey Project smack in the center of things. It’s a great conversation starter, to say the least, and it will make the “absent referent” a little less absent. ...

I occasionally see wild turkeys around here, esp in the fall
they are so cool, once I saw one jump from the street into
a low tree branch it was beautiful! Why would anyone get the idea that it was okay to eat them?

I will admit that I used to eat turkey/chicken all the time without a second thought,(I am now vegetarian) but watching this and other videos about them/and all they go through and just looking at them, their little faces they are so innocent. It's hard to believe anyone could eat them! :(

Farm Sanctuary The more the public learns about the horrific conditions animals are forced to endure on factory farms, the more intolerant they become of these cruelties. Seven states — Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Maine, Michigan, and Oregon—have already banned some of the worst confinement systems for farm animals. In time, Ohio will do the same.

Gene Baur, President and Co-founder of Farm Sanctuary: “This undemocratic power grab was passed by the same means that inhumane factory farming practices continue to pass in a so-called civilized society — by misleading well-meaning Ohioans...”

I begged my Ohio friends to vote No on Issue 2--one of them wrote that he thought it was "a relatively cheap way to protect us from national interests." I just couldn't believe he was so blind and then saddened that those who wrote Issue 2 were able to spin the words prettily enough to get this past voters. There is so much wrong with Issue 2. I'm sad that more people didn't take the time to do their homework and open their eyes to what this was really all about: money.
